Craig Steere designed this house for himself and his young family back in 2000 for a compact site in Charles Street, Cottesloe. The house has since undergone many changes since being on-sold but was originally characterized by its distinctive sculptural form and minimalistic expression. The interior spaces were designed to be inherently flexible and adaptable, incorporating open plan living with passive-solar design principles ensuring ample natural lighting and cross-ventilation. The neutral colour palette and simple material selection contribute to a sense of simplicity and calm in this lovely family home.
This project has been featured in design publications including ‘Contemporary Houses of the World’ published in 2002.
